Snap counts registered, logged-in Snapchat users who visit its apps or websites at least once in a defined 24-hour period. The quarterly figure is the arithmetic average of those daily counts across the quarter.
Recent history and regional figures
Two quarters, one definition
Snap reported an average of 483 million daily active users in Q1 2026 using the same disclosed definition. A higher quarterly average does not mean every user was active every day, or identify the number of new account holders.
| Reference period | Reported value | Original source |
|---|---|---|
| Q1 2026 · January–March | 483 | Quarterly release |
| Q2 2026 · April–June | 493 | Quarterly release |
Both observations are quarterly averages of daily counts using the same disclosed definition. The Q2 release also repeats the Q1 total, which matches the original Q1 release.

How many daily users does Snapchat have?
Snap reported an average of 493 million daily active Snapchat users worldwide during Q2 2026. Cite both the quarter and the fact that this is an average.
Does 493 million mean the same people used it every day?
No. Snap averages the count for each day of the quarter. Different users can qualify on different days, so this average does not describe a fixed group active every day.
Why is a monthly user figure usually larger?
A 30-day window can include people who visit less often than daily. The exact calculation still matters: Snapchat's quarterly MAU measure averages month-end 30-day counts, whereas this page's main series averages daily counts.

- This is a company-defined, registered and logged-in user metric. It is not an independently verified census of unique people.
- A quarterly average DAU does not measure the union of all users over the quarter. Do not multiply it by the number of days to estimate unique users.
- Snap uses internal analytics and notes potential measurement errors and future method adjustments in its filings.
- The regional labels are Snap's reporting categories; do not equate Europe with the EU or North America with the United States.
- These releases do not supply a demographic distribution for this exact DAU figure. No missing age or country estimates are inferred.
